Heya! Finally joined this forum officially... abit blur cause I couldn't find the 'join forum' button, but nevertheless, I'm here !!!

I'm meixian (yes, I know, the most unoriginally nickname I have =P), and I supress my desire to buy all books/comics/mangas by NOT visiting the shelves and just walk straight from points A to B.

I collect ANY comics/mangas that catches my eye with the beautiful artworks ^_^ and great storylines of course. Am particularly fond of different storyplots like One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, Furuba (Fruits Baskets), Kaori Yuki of Angel Santuary), Nakamura Yoshiki (of Tokyo Crazy Paradise & Skip Beat), Yuriko Nishiyama (of Harlem Beat & Dragon Voice) etc. Think I like most of the popular mangas around due to Pop culture.

I ususally stay clear of typical shoujo mangas (no offense), but I do like Satomi Ikezawa's works (of Othello & Guru Guru Pon-Chan), Hana Zakari No Kimi Tachi E (Hisaya Nakajo), etc. I prefer shounen, sports, action, fantasy, mystery, and of course, food related ones (I heard Yakitate Japan was goodddd - seriously, a manga & anime on BREAD!!! *yum!*)

The ones that I really collect are by Kazuya Minekura (of Gemsomaden Saiyuki), Inoue Takehiko, You Higuri, Yoko Matunutsa's Yami no Matsuei, Chobits, etc etc etc. - cannot remember liao XD, but I bet I'll miss out alot of other favorites.

For the comics, I usually like the classics, like X-men, Batman, fantastic four cartoons, and new ones like batman of the future, JLA, Constantine comics (thanks to Keanu's stoic acting), and Bite Club (thanks Hui Fang =) ). Sandman looks good to too, though I haven't got the chance to read it, but the artwork's great.

Love the four panals from newpapers too! Like Get Fuzzy, Garfield, Foxtrot, Calvin & Hobbles, Peanuts, and Baby Blues! ^__^

Hi as you all probably know, my name is Fad! ;D

Actually this is my first time actually using a forum. Despite my exasperated tutors and firends insistence that forums are a good resource for any questions, I still repeatedly bug them with my problems in real life. Maybe because I need an answer immediately for my short term memory will cause me to forget I actually posted such a thing.

Anyway, to my hobbies. I dont actually read much manga for I feel I have to read the actual thing. Translations are kinda wierd and detract to the experience. Hope to one day improve my languages, both Chinese and Japanese to one day be able to read them comfortably. But I do watch alot of anime that my friends recommend. My favourites include Lain, Ghost in the Shell... Curently I am trying to get down to watching Evangelion and School Rumble.

The english comics I read are Books of Magic, Sandman and I will pick up Batman once in awhile when the mood strikes. I dont really like those colourful classic superhero strong but brainless types. Prefer the darkness, moodiness and wierdness of the Vertigo titles. My favourite artist has to be Charles Vess! He has this whimsical fairy tale style thats just can make me breathless.

I am a Gamer! Not much of a hardcore gamer when I compare myself to friends but I have been a hooked gamer since I first picked up Advanced Dungeon and Dragons in primary school. It was fantastic, imagine an imgainary place where you can act out whatever wierd characters or ideas you have in your head, where the world is built according to what you and your friends want it to be like. I played D&D all the way through to secondary school which is probably one of the reasons why I ended up doing badly for OLevels. My first game, not counting pong and donkey kong on the atari or a myriad of wierd games on those 5 1/2 inch floppies which you feed into the old XTs, was XCOM: UFO Unknown. The next one i remembered was Daggerfall, part of the Elderscrolls series. Heh I could probably go on and reminisce but that can go on forever.

Right now my interests lie in photography, astronomy, and blogging, for I feel I wanna improve my observations and descriptions. Read in an astronomy magazines recently about observation that went something like this: "Soon your descriptions in your journal would go beyond a blob of bright stuff to include colours, swirls and patterns". I also attempt to play the guitar too for it helps me to relax.

Lastly, I hope to one day gain enough programming skills to contribute to the Open Source community and maybe improve the lives of the end-users who use that software. Benevolent? Nah actually it translates to me wanting to finally create that prolific game that will influence the next generation the same way the games of the past has influenced me. ;D

Hope this is extensive enough. Especially for those who dont know me too well for I dont talk much. Talking is hard. Typing is much easier!

Hello everybody.... after a series of unfortunate events (a very apt description if you know what i went through to reach here.) i am finally here.

This is Weiling.

Manga and animation spices up my life (boring typical student life). More into manga than animations, like to give some thoughts to the plot.

Prefers manga with darker themes and unexpected endings.

Favourite manga for now: Yasha, Poison Caine, Love mode and Tales of the Ice Demon.
